About Us

Welcome to gee snaps, we hope you like our photo galleries. We are both avid photographers and love nothing better than sharing photos of our travels and everyday adventures. It’s great having a hobby that we can share. We can often be seen snapping the same object and getting a completely different result, you’ll see that for yourself as you skim though our individual galleries.

We like our photos to transport you to our chosen destination and we hope our photos inspire you to travel, whether it is just down the road or across the world,  just do it – life is made to live large.

Robbie is always on the look out for the perfect shot and to master technical shots which take some planning. When we are heading off on holidays he researches our destinations and gets an idea in his head of where to go for the best photo opportunities. He loves to experiment and use new techniques and build on his photography skills. Robbie loves nothing better than walking up to strangers and asking to photograph them. This has given him the opportunity to get some exceptional photos. He uses his sense of humor and smile to break down the language barriers and build trust with his subject. He’ll walk the streets for hours on end scoping the hood for that local character who’s face tells a story. Check out his portraits in the galleries and judge for yourself.

Beauty can be seen in all things, seeing and composing the beauty is what separates the snapshot from the photograph.

My love for photography started in high school by accident, it was a way to get out of cookery class and if you have eaten anything I’ve cooked you’ll know I should have taken the cookery classes. I learned to take and develop photos the old fashion way in a dark room. In the nineties I got my first digital camera and loved being able to see my pictures immediately. I messed around with the camera but mainly used it to take pictures of my paintings but didn’t see photography as an art form. Over the years and with the guidance of Robbie, I have learned to edit my own photos and realise that it is a way to express myself and an instant result. I prefer to take photos of old buildings and urban environments, but on our trip to NZ I discovered the joys of photographing landscapes, easy to do when every inch of the place is a postcard shot on steroids.

Photographs are like a reflection of your soul and reflect who you are. So, shoot with your heart, and let the world know who you are.
